Seasoning and fermentation need judgment

Pans and equipment have capacity

Doubling batter does not prove that the current pan, mixer, pot, or slow cooker can hold twice as much. Pan area, depth, shape, and material change how heat reaches the food. A larger pot may also change evaporation, while an overfilled mixer or appliance can be unsafe. Check stated capacity and fill guidance before starting. If the recipe must be split into batches, each batch may need its own timing and handling. Time, temperature, yield, and safety stay separate

Do not multiply an oven setting by the serving factor. Cooking time may rise, fall, or remain similar depending on thickness, vessel, number of pieces, starting temperature, and appliance performance. Likewise, purchased weight and edible prepared yield are not always the same: trimming, draining, peeling, and moisture loss matter.
